On GfA’s behalf, Inform Recruitment is recruiting a Purchasing Assistant to support the purchase of the company’s stock and supplies to meet customer demand.

Although experience in purchasing or administration/data entry would be highly beneficial to this position, candidates who are A-Level educated and possess basic office or customer service experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered at a trainee level.

As Purchasing Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will be:

  • Creating accurate electronic stock orders; inputting all necessary parts, customer and price information.
  • Monitoring stock delivery and chasing orders.
  • Checking supplier order confirmations against placed orders per the agreed price, quantity and date.
  • Contacting the supplier to correct any errors.
  • Monitoring the stock report.
  • Assisting with the administration required to resolve stock issues.
  • Sourcing alternative supplies.
  • Providing stock updates to colleagues and suppliers.
  • Accurately recording and preparing any department data needed.
  • Liaising with suppliers and all internal teams: Customer Service, Sales, Warehouse and Technical.
  • Assisting with any other administrative work required by the Operations Team.

All candidates will need to possess the following:

  • GCSEs/equivalent in Maths and English grade C or above
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, and the confidence to pick up new systems.
  • A good level of numeracy, and you will enjoy working with numbers.
  • An appreciation for urgency and a high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to work to deadlines.
  • Experience in dealing with customers.
  • An assertive but professional manner.

This position is office-based, with free and secure on-site parking. The office is very modern and open plan, with a fantastic kitchen/breakout area. The business operates Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. After your probationary period, you will have 25 days of annual leave + bank holidays and be eligible for the company’s annual bonus scheme.
